What the Foro Sol is
The cars thread through Estadio GNP Seguros, the baseball stadium formerly called Foro Sol, built inside the old Peraltada curve. It hosts the podium ceremony, and race.mx calls Gradas 14 and 15 the best atmosphere of the weekend.1
The stadium has two halves: Grada 14 to the south (Foro Sol Sur) and Grada 15 to the north (Foro Sol Norte). Both overlook Turns 13, 14 and 15, the slowest corners on the lap.3,4
Getting in
Both stadium zones enter from the Palacio de los Deportes side: the Café zone through Puerta 1 and the Gris zone through Puerta 2. The ticket office at Puerta 1 serves both. The nearest Line 9 stop named by fan guides is Velódromo.2,3,5
You can only enter the zone printed on your ticket, through the gate assigned to it.2,6
Before you sit down
- Seats are concrete steps, so dress for a long day on them.3,4
- Grada 14 faces north and is reported fully shaded by 14:00; Grada 15 gets far more sun.3,4
- There is one big screen, above the podium.3
- Sunscreen is allowed in containers up to 100 ml; aerosols are not.7
Cushions are banned. Fan guides suggest bringing something soft for the concrete steps, but the promoter's security list bans seat backs and seat pads (item 27) and chairs (item 28). A folded jacket is allowed (item 16 of the allowed list).3,7
